Stafford Gatehouse Youth Theatre (SGYT) is a youth theatre company based at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre that works with young people aged between 7 and 18 who live in Stafford Borough. The venue’s award winning and expanding youth theatre create and produce a broad range of high quality theatrical experiences, entertaining audiences with a range of productions.
The youth theatre is organised into six age groups, led by trained tutors who meet weekly during school term times at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre. SGYT aims to Challenge young people to develop Confidence, Creativity and Consideration for others, in the context of a professional theatre. The SGYT is very lucky to be based in a professional theatre and an important aspect of its work is the teaching and learning of theatre skills, aiming for professional standards.

Stafford Gatehouse Theatre Summer School is a fantastic opportunity each year for eighty children aged between 7 and 18 years old, who live in, or attend a school in Stafford Borough (or are a SGYT member) and have a love for entertaining!
Auditions for the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre Summer School to earn a chance to appear in a professionally choreographed and directed production take place in May each year. The Summer School runs at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre for three weeks in July/August and the production is performed in the final week.
