Gatehouse Theatre Terms and Conditions

1. Customer Service

1.1  By purchasing a ticket by telephone, over the counter or via the website, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions of sale.

1.2  The Theatre Management reserves the right to check that every member of the audience holds a valid ticket.

1.3  The Theatre Management reserves the right to refuse admission of the ticket holder or request the ticket holder to leave the premises if the ticket holder is abusive, violent, intoxicated, or there is reason to believe other patrons’ comfort, enjoyment or safety may be affected.

1.4    The use of mobile phones, cameras, pagers, lasers and any form of video or audio recording equipment is strictly prohibited in the auditorium.

1.5  Children under 2 years of age will be admitted to the theatre for free, but are required to sit on the lap of their respective parent or guardian. A ‘babes in arms’ ticket must be booked by the ticket purchaser when booking tickets. Any children using a seat will be required to pay the standard ticket price.

1.6  To minimise disruption to the performers and members of the audience, every effort will be made to ensure the admittance of latecomers within a suitable break in the performance, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.

1.7  Any published advice about age suitability for any production is offered as a guide only.

1.8  Please note that only drinks purchased at the Gatehouse Theatre bar can be taken into the auditorium in the plastic cups provided.

 2. Ticket Sales

2.1  Tickets are offered for sale subject to availability. The Theatre Management reserves the right to introduce discounts and price changes without prior notice.

2.2   When booking tickets online or by phone, please note that leaving a single unoccupied seat at the end of a row or between selected seats is not permitted.

2.3  Customers booking tickets by phone are required to read the terms and conditions of sale in full and therefore are entitled to a “cooling-off” period of 2 working days in which to cancel their order should they so wish. A full refund will be given.

2.4  When booking tickets for wheelchair users or those who require mobility assistance, it is important that staff are aware at the time of booking to ensure they can be seated at the front of the auditorium for safe evacuation in the event of an emergency.

2.5  On receipt of your confirmation email, please check tickets carefully as mistakes cannot be rectified on the day of the performance.

2.6  Where tickets are to be issued for a performance they may be sent by second class post or available for collection from the Box Office.

2.7  Tickets will only be delivered to the registered address of the credit/debit card holder if the address is situated within the United Kingdom where booking is made at least five days before the performance.

2.8  To collect tickets from the box office, please ensure you have your booking confirmation email and your credit/debit card used to make the booking.

2.9   Tickets are sold for use by the buyer only (and his or her party) and are not for resale for commercial gain by the ticket holder. Failure to comply will result in the booking being void and the unauthorised ticket holder being refused entry to the performance.

 

 

3. Discounts and Concessions

3.1   Any discounted tickets must be requested at the time of booking and the sales team may ask to see proof of entitlement before selling tickets at discounted or concessionary prices. 

3.2    Concessionary tickets are available for many of the performances for children under 16 years of age, full time students, people over 60, carers and those claiming disability or unemployment benefits. Proof of status will be required.

3.3    All discounts are subject to availability where applicable and can be withdrawn at the discretion of the Theatre Management without prior notice. The Theatre Management reserves the right to introduce discounts and price changes without prior notice.

3.4   The Enjoy Staffordshire and Shugborough Privilege pass offers are restricted to specific performances and are only available on specific days. Please contact the Box Office directly on 01785 254653 when enquiring about these offers. All offers are subject to availability and the Theatre Management reserves the right to withdraw participation in any partner offers at any time without notice.

 4. Cancellation Policy, Ticket Exchanges & Refunds

4.1  In the event that a performance is cancelled or postponed by the external hire company, Stafford Borough Council and the Theatre Management will not be responsible. Please contact the Box Office the following working day for information relating to refunds . Every effort will be made to contact ticket holders to notify them in advance.

4.2  Where the Theatre Management has to make unavoidable alterations to the advertised theatre programme or cast, the ticket holder will be entitled to cancel and receive a full refund. Every effort will be made to contact ticket holders to notify them in advance of any alterations.

4.3  Where a performance is cancelled or postponed by the Theatre Management for reasons outside of their control, an alternative performance will be offered in exchange, subject to availability, up to the face value of the ticket(s). Where an alternative performance is not available, or if the ticket holder is unable to attend the alternative performance, a refund of the full ticket value will be given plus any booking fee that may be applicable. Every effort will be made to contact ticket holders to notify them in advance. Please note that where tickets are sent by post, the cost of postage will not be refunded.

4.4  In extreme circumstances, a performance (including an open air performance) may be abandoned without notice due to severe weather conditions. An alternative performance will be offered in exchange, subject to availability, up to the face value of the ticket(s). Where an alternative performance is not available, or if the ticket holder is unable to attend the alternative performance, a refund of the full ticket value will be given plus any booking fee that may be applicable. Please note that where tickets are sent by post, the cost of postage will not be refunded.

4.5  The Theatre Management reserves the right to stop and start an open air performance as necessary in the event of severe weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

4.6  With the exception of paragraphs 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3, tickets cannot be cancelled or exchanged and are non-refundable.

4.7 The Theatre Management reserves the right not to accept tickets for resale. However, when returned tickets are accepted for resale they will be subject to an administration fee.

4.8 The Theatre Management  is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.

4.9  With the exception of 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3, any replacement tickets will be subject to an administration fee.

 5.  Weather Policy

 

5.1  In the event of severe weather conditions, every effort will be made to complete an open air performance and the Theatre Management reserves the right to stop and start the performance as necessary.

5.2  Performances are not cancelled or abandoned before the advertised start time.

5.3   The decision whether to abandon or cancel a performance due to severe weather conditions will be wholly at the discretion of the Theatre Management.

6.     Using the Website and Disclaimers

6.1  Use of the Site is for personal use only. It may not be used in any improper or unlawful manner.

6.2  Use of the Site will comply with all local laws and rules regarding acceptable use of and conduct on the internet.

6.3  While every endeavour is made to ensure that the information available on the Site is accurate, The Theatre Management does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness or reliability and does not accept liability for any errors and/or omissions. Changes to the content, events and prices detailed on the Site are subject to change at any time without notice.

6.4  By accessing the Site, the user assumes all risks associated with use of the internet, including the risk of damage to computer hardware, software or data through viruses and other harmful components. The Theatre Management and Stafford Borough Council will not be responsible for the security of the site or for any disruption to the Site.

6.5 Stafford Borough Council and the Theatre Management will not be responsible or liable in any way for the content, advertising, products or services available from third party websites accessible via links on the Site. Access to such websites is entirely at the user’s own risk. Any transactions, dealings or arrangements carried out by the user via such a website shall be direct with the third party under their terms and conditions.

6.6 The text and images contained on the Site belong to Stafford Gatehouse Theatre. Content can be printed for personal use only. No part of this Site may be reproduced or included in any other work or publication without written permission from Stafford Gatehouse Theatre. Unauthorised use of the Site content could lead to prosecution.

7.  Liability

7.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Theatre Management’s or Stafford Borough Council’s liability for:

a)    death or personal injury caused by the Council’s or the Theatre Management’s negligence or

b)   any loss suffered as a result of reliance on any fraudulent misrepresentation made by the Council or the Theatre Management.

7.2   The Council and the Theatre Management do not accept liability in respect of any damage to loss or theft of property except to the extent that it is caused by the act or default, negligence or breach of duty of the Council or the Theatre Management.

8. General

8.1  This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.  

Shugborough Estate Terms and Conditions of Sale

Shugborough Estate Management reserve the right to:

Check that every visitor has a valid ticket.

Refuse admission of the ticket holder to the premises or request the ticket holder to leave the premises if due reason or cause is given.

Make alterations to the advertised event programme in the event of an unavoidable cause, without prior notice.

Cancel or abandon, in extreme circumstances, any event without notice. For cancellations every effort will be made to contact customers to notify them in advance.

Not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to persons or property on or around the premises.

Forbid the resale of a ticket for profit or commercial gain. Failure to comply will make the ticket void.

Advanced ticket prices available online or via telephone differ to those bought on Shugborough Hall's site.

Advanced ticket bookings are available until 12.00 noon, the day before the event for telephone bookings and two days before the event online.

On receipt of your confirmation email, please check that your tickets are for the correct event or ticket type (including date and time if applicable), as mistakes cannot necessarily be rectified on the day of your visit.

Children under 5 years will be admitted to Shugborough for free unless advertised otherwise (e.g. this differs for our Santa At the Farm event - check specific details for the type of ticket or event that you are attending).

The use of cameras, video, audio or visual recording equipment within certain buildings is prohibited.

Discounts and Concessions

Concessions are applicable to students, over 60's, the unemployed and the disabled. Proof of status may be required for concessionary tickets. Concession prices are shown in brackets, where they apply.

Carers tickets are free to people accompanying a disabled person. Carers attending with season pass holders will be provided with a day pass only.

Children's tickets are available for 5 - 16 year olds. Under 5's go free, for all events apart from Santa at the Farm, when this discount only applies in arms, not visiting Father Christmas.

Family tickets are available for two adults and up to three children ages 5 - 16 years.

One adult and one child tickets are available for children aged 5 - 16 years.

Vouchers or offers can only be redeemed on the day of use at Shugborough's own ticket office and are not valid with online purchases or telephone bookings.All discounts are subject to availability, where applicable, and can be withdrawn at the discretion of Shugborough Management without prior notice, and do not apply to tickets already purchased. The Shugborough Management reserves the right to introduce discounts and price changes without prior notice.

Special promotions, discounts and concessions cannot be combined, and one discount or promotional offer per purchase unless otherwise stated.

Promotional offers and discounts available directly through Stafford Gatehouse Box Office may differ from ones offered directly from Shugborough Estate.

Certain offers and discounts may only be available through the Shugborough Estate directly.

Refunds and Exchanges

Only in exceptional circumstances, as deemed by Shugborough Estate management, will an exchange of ticket or refund be given. Any complaints should be made in writing to the Group Manager, Liz Carruthers at Shugborough Estate, Milford, Stafford, ST17 0XB and your case will be considered and responded to as soon as possible.

Day Tickets

Seniors can purchase a full day ticket for just £5.00, valid only on Mons, but not available in advance. Additional offers may be available, but cannot be combined with any other promotions and will not be available with online purchases. Vouchers can only be redeemed on the day of use at Shugborough's own ticket office and are not valid with online purchases.

Shugborough Summer Picnic Movies

Shugborough Summer Picnic Movies Group Offer: Groups of 8 people booking in advance can also obtain two extra for free. The two free tickets will always be the cheaper ones in any mixed ticket type booking. The Group Offer is only available on advanced bookings when taken over the phone, or at Shugborough Estate and cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion.

Privilege Pass

PRIVILEGE PASS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Shugborough Privilege Pass is valid for twelve months and allows unlimited entrance to the estate during the open season, which is typically the third week of March to the third week of October, but may alter from year to year

Season Passes purchased before November 2010 will still enjoy the benefits that were originally agreed.  However the extra benefits which are detailed overleaf apply only to the new Privilege Pass launched in November 2010.The pass excludes admission to special events unless otherwise stated.  Offers for Christmas Evenings and other events detailed MUST be pre-booked unless otherwise stated and apply to the ‘on the night’ prices

The Pass is non-refundable and only the person/s named may use the Pass.  A Guest Pass can be purchased and used by anyone, as long as they visit with an associated valid passholder. All offers are only valid for passholders and cannot be transferred. A valid pass will need to be shown along with any offer ticket purchased.. This includes all third party events, such as those offered by Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.

 The Gatehouse Theatre offer can only be redeemed by actual passholders.  One £5 discount offer per passholder per show on selected dates. Please contact the Gatehouse Theatre as offers are restricted to specific days. A valid pass will need to be shown along with the Gatehouse ticket purchased when you attend the show. You can redeem your offer by calling the Gatehouse Theatre on 01785 254653

 All Lewis Partnership benefits will require you to show a VALID pass BEFORE making a purchase or ordering food or beverages, otherwise the discount cannot be applied.  Other T&C’s may apply

 The ESPORTA Health Club privilege can be redeemed by making an appointment with the ESPORTA membership manager on 01785 231 600.  You will be required to show a valid pass, the 5 days will need to be used consecutively.

 The NT shop discount applies to purchases exceeding £10 and cannot be used against the purchase of NT memberships.The Privilege Pass benefits, associated offers, privileges and benefits, or any offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or special offers made available by Shugborough or associated organisations.  For example you cannot combine a Christmas Evening Discount Privilege with another Christmas Evening offer.

You cannot combine an existing Lewis Partnership offer with the Privilege Pass discount.  To be clear, Privilege Pass benefits and discounts CANNOT be combined with other discounts or offers. Opening and closing times, prices and events are all subject to change without prior notice.

Lost cards should be reported to the Shugborough Estate immediately. There will be an admin fee of £1.50 for replacing lost or stolen cards. The details of the pass holder will be kept on file; however this will only be used for communication between Shugborough Estate and the passholder, and will not be shared with any third parties, unless otherwise required for the administration of the Privilege Pass.

 Without affecting your statutory rights, Shugborough retains the right to change these terms and conditions and will amend them from time to time. Communications about these changes, and anything related to the season pass will be communicated to Privilege Pass holders in the newsletter, or by post, or by email.
